How Timevouchr works
Honest answers about how we connect buyers and sellers — and what we do and don't protect against today.
What Timevouchr does today
Listings and discovery
Sellers post their watches with full specifications, photos, and condition notes. Buyers browse, save, and explore. Our deal-scoring feature compares listing prices against verified comparable sales (coming soon).
Offers and inquiries
When a buyer wants to negotiate, they can submit an offer through the platform. Sellers receive these by email and can accept, decline, or counter. All offer history is recorded.
Verified accounts
Every buyer and seller has a verified email account. This isn't full identity verification, but it makes anonymous abuse harder.
What Timevouchr does NOT do today
We don't process payments. Yet.
We're working toward integrated payments with buyer protection. Until then, buyers and sellers arrange payment directly. We strongly recommend you do NOT pay until you have inspected the watch in person or via a trusted third-party authenticator.
We don't authenticate watches. Yet.
Our planned authenticity-check service will use third-party watchmakers to inspect listings before they ship. It's not live. For now, treat every listing as you would a private sale — verify provenance, ask for documentation, and be skeptical of deals that seem too good.
We don't hold funds.
If you wire money, Zelle, Venmo, or send cash to a seller off-platform, Timevouchr has zero ability to recover those funds if something goes wrong. We can ban scammers from the platform, but we can't reverse your bank transfer.
What this means for buyers
- Ask sellers for additional photos, serial numbers, and service history before paying.
- If possible, meet in person to inspect — pick a safe, public location like a bank lobby.
- If meeting in person isn't possible, consider using a third-party watchmaker for inspection at the seller's location.
- Never wire money to a seller you can't verify exists outside their Timevouchr profile.
What this means for sellers
- Be honest in your listings — buyers will verify what you claim.
- Don't make authenticity claims you can't back with documentation.
- Use shipping with full insurance and signature required.
- Save all communication on the platform (don't move conversations to outside apps if you can avoid it).
Reporting and safety
If you encounter a suspected scam, fraud, or harassment, report it to safety@timevouchr.com. We review every report and remove bad actors.
If you've been scammed, file a report with your local police and the FTC at reportfraud.ftc.gov. Then tell us — even though we can't recover your money, we can prevent the scammer from harming others.
What's coming
- Integrated payments with buyer protection: planned for 2027.
- Third-party authentication service: planned for 2027.
- Until those are live, we encourage caution and direct verification.
